We do not manage user funds
To be explicit:
-
No custody. We are not a custodian, broker, exchange, or wallet provider. Your assets live exclusively on the exchanges you connect to — Binance, Bybit, OKX, Hyperliquid, and so on.
-
No fund routing. Deposits, withdrawals, and on-chain transfers happen directly between you and the exchange. MagicTradeBot is never an intermediary in any movement of capital.
-
No API withdrawal permissions. The bot is designed to operate with trade-only API permissions. You should never enable withdrawal permissions on keys used with MagicTradeBot — and we never request them.
-
No pooled accounts or master keys. There is no shared wallet, no master key, no aggregated balance. Every operator's capital is independent and isolated on their own exchange account.
-
Exchange counterparty risk is yours. Because your funds remain on the exchange, exchange insolvency, hacks, frozen withdrawals, or regulatory action against the exchange are risks borne entirely by you. We have no recourse on your behalf.
Risk acknowledgement
By accessing or using MagicTradeBot ("Service" or "Platform") you acknowledge and accept the following risks in full:
| Risk category | Description | Your responsibility |
|---|---|---|
| Capital loss | Cryptocurrency and leveraged trading carry substantial financial risk. You may lose some or all of your invested capital. | Only trade with capital you can afford to lose entirely |
| Market volatility | Crypto markets are highly volatile. Prices can move against any automated strategy rapidly and without warning. | Monitor positions and set appropriate risk limits |
| Past performance | Historical data, backtests, or simulated results do not guarantee future outcomes under any circumstances. | Do not rely on historical results as a predictor of returns |
| Leverage risk | Using leverage amplifies both potential gains and potential losses. Leveraged positions can be liquidated rapidly. | Understand leverage mechanics before enabling it |
No financial advice
MagicTradeBot is a software execution platform. Nothing within the platform, documentation, knowledgebase, blog, release notes, or any communication from MagicTradeBot constitutes:
- Financial, investment, or trading advice
- Legal or tax advice
- A recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any asset
- A solicitation or offer to enter into any financial transaction
All trading decisions — including strategy selection, position sizing, leverage levels, and entry and exit timing — are made solely by you. MagicTradeBot executes the instructions you configure; it does not make independent trading decisions on your behalf.
Technical & operational risks
Automated trading systems are subject to technical risks that can result in financial losses independent of market conditions. You accept the following operational risks:
| Risk | Description | MagicTradeBot liability |
|---|---|---|
| System failures | Software bugs, crashes, or unexpected restarts during active positions | None — use stop-losses and monitor positions |
| Connectivity loss | Internet or server interruptions preventing order placement or cancellation | None — ensure reliable server infrastructure |
| Exchange outages | Exchange API downtime, maintenance windows, or rate limit enforcement | None — exchanges operate independently |
| User misconfiguration | Incorrect settings, wrong API permissions, or faulty strategy parameters | None — test in paper mode before going live |
| Self-hosting risks | Server compromise, OS vulnerabilities, or improper API key storage on your own infrastructure | None — you are responsible for your server security |
Market risks
-
Volatility. Cryptocurrency markets can move dramatically within seconds. Even well-configured automated strategies may suffer significant losses during flash crashes, sudden pumps, or extreme market dislocations.
-
Liquidity risk. Low-liquidity trading pairs may result in significant slippage, partial fills, or the inability to exit positions at expected prices.
-
Funding rate risk. Perpetual futures carry funding rate obligations that can erode profitability on held positions, particularly in trending markets.
-
Liquidation risk. Leveraged positions may be liquidated by the exchange if margin requirements are not met, resulting in total loss of the margin posted for that position.
-
Regulatory changes. Changes in financial regulations, exchange policies, or government actions (including trading bans or asset restrictions) may adversely affect your ability to trade in specific markets or regions.
-
Exchange counterparty risk. MagicTradeBot holds no custody of your funds. Your assets remain on the exchange you connect. Exchange insolvency, hacks, or withdrawal restrictions are risks borne entirely by you.
No guarantees or warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to:
-
No performance guarantee. We make no representation that any strategy, signal, or engine configuration will produce profitable results.
-
No uptime guarantee. While we strive for reliability, we do not warrant uninterrupted, error-free, or continuously available service. Refer to our Service Level Agreement for uptime commitments.
-
No accuracy guarantee. Market data, signal outputs, and exchange feeds are sourced from third parties. We do not warrant their accuracy, completeness, or timeliness.
-
Jurisdictional compliance. You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of the Service complies with all applicable laws, tax requirements, and financial regulations in your jurisdiction. The Service may not be available or lawful in all regions.
Third-party services & integrations
MagicTradeBot integrates with third-party cryptocurrency exchanges, analytics providers, and payment processors. We are not responsible for:
- The terms, availability, performance, or reliability of any connected exchange or external service
- Changes to exchange APIs, rate limits, or trading rules that affect the operation of your bot
- Data accuracy or latency from third-party market data feeds
- Payment processing delays, failures, or disputes handled by NowPayments or any other payment processor
Use of third-party services is subject to those services' own terms of service and privacy policies.
Self-hosting responsibility
MagicTradeBot is a self-hosted binary. When you deploy the platform on your own infrastructure you assume full responsibility for:
- Securing your server or VPS — including OS hardening, firewall configuration, and SSH key management
- Safe storage of exchange API keys — use environment variables or encrypted credential stores, never plain text
- Monitoring the bot and responding to unexpected behaviour, alerts, or errors in a timely manner
- Maintaining appropriate backups of your configuration files and SQLite database
- Ensuring your server has reliable network connectivity and sufficient resources to maintain stable bot operation
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MagicTradeBot and its officers, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for:
- Any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service
- Any trading losses, loss of profits, or loss of capital resulting from strategies you configure and execute using the platform
- Damages resulting from reliance on the platform's signal outputs, market data, or strategy results
- Losses arising from exchange outages, API failures, network interruptions, or third-party service disruptions
- Unauthorised access to your account or server where such access results from your failure to maintain adequate security
Where liability cannot be excluded by law, our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the incident giving rise to the claim.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless MagicTradeBot and its officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:
- Your use or misuse of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms, this Disclaimer, or any applicable law or regulation
- Trading losses or disputes arising from strategies you configure and execute using the platform
- Any third-party claim arising from your trading activity on connected exchanges
